Since fish itself is a highly proteinaceous commodity, it’s been preferred on behalf of other food stuffs. Similar to fish the fish meal also imparts proteins of high nutritive value, because of the presence of 22 essential amino acids including the most important amino acid- Lysine, which of course, is rarely present in other feeds/ food stuffs.
  The fish meal removes the moisture which in turn increases the concentration of proteins available for the growth. The meal is also rich in B- group Vitamin namely - Riboflavin, Pantothenic acid, Niacin and Choline. The powdered fish meal is rich in minerals like Calcium, Phosphorus, Iodine etc.
Fish meal contains other growth promoting and protein utilization factors that are found to be easily digestible for the poultry and aqua animals. The protein efficiency ratio (PER) has been worked out to find the growth studies in animals and farm grown animals
  Unlike other vegetable proteins meals, fish meal contains very less fibre content which is useful in getting the food easily digested and also for the energy calculation.
 

  The fish oil being a good source of essential fatty acids shelters two important contents called EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). These two Omeg-3-fatty acid contents commonly having the PUFA nature decrease the cholesterol levels in the arteries and there by reduce the risk of heart disease. Fish oil also is found to be the cheap source of vitamin A, D and E content. Fish oil supports the growth of animals at least equal to that of any other source of fat in the diet. All the members of essential fatty acids have shown growth promoting factors in animals.
  Fish oil finds its application in feeds and also used for its medicinal value in pharmaceutical and scientific research areas. Fish oil also finds its application as drying oils, varnishes and also in paint industries. Further it is used as a greasing agent and also as water proofing agents.
 

  The personnel operating at various steps of production are trained at regular basis for the maintaining the quality. The operators separate the different types of meals to different lots on basis of fish type, quality of raw fish, and quality of fish meal based on the colour, odour and appearance. In each lot (up to 300 bags) 100% sampling is carried out and the lot numbers are displayed to the lot as well as to the sample. Thus the collected sample is sent to our own well equipped laboratory to cater the further/ daily analysis of the products from the company.
  Raj Fish Meal and Oil Company have well trained quality control personnel who are working in a well equipped laboratory. The laboratory consists of various equipments like Kjeltec unit (for protein analysis), Soxtec unit (for fat estimation), Monocular microscope, Digital IR (Metler-Toledo) and Halogen type moisture analyzers. Muffle Furnace, Oven, Incubator, Digital pH meter, Autoclave etc.
  Despite the laboratory equipments the quality personnel take stringent controls at each steps of the process. The company also has taken necessary arrangements for implementing ISO and other quality standards and is on the verge of action.
 

The surroundings in the company are fully concretized so as to take care of the seepage of fish water, ice water and cleaned waters entering into the ground water. The company has a well controlled effluent treatment plant approved by reputed institute. The deodorizing and the smoke towers are
installed as per the pollution control board norms. These aspects have helped the company in making a reputation of keeping the premises and locality clean. The organic matter that is allowed to settle after the various steps in ETP is separated and dried in an open concreted area and dispatched as FISH MANURE to agricultural activities.
